This Cookie Policy explains how Nouvèl Ayiti Corporation uses cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons, pixels, SDKs, and local storage) on ayiti.com and in the Ayiti mobile application. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember information about you. “First-party” cookies are set by Nouvèl Ayiti. “Third-party” cookies are set by a different domain, typically a service provider we use. Mobile apps use local storage and software development kits (SDKs) that perform similar functions.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, secure the Services against fraud and abuse, understand how the Services are used, and (when contributions open) facilitate payments through Stripe.
3. Categories of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, security, load balancing, and remembering your cookie choices. These cannot be turned off without breaking the Services. | Session ID, CSRF token, language preference. |
| Functional | Remember choices you make to personalize your experience. | Preferred language, recently viewed handbook chapters. |
| Analytics | Help us understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not build cross-site profiles. | Aggregated page-view and feature-usage counters. |
| Payment (when active) | Set by Stripe to prevent fraud during contribution flows. Present only when contributions open. | Stripe __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid. |
We do not use advertising cookies and do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Third-party cookies
Third parties whose technologies appear on the Services include our hosting and content-delivery provider, our mapping provider, our analytics provider, and (when contributions open) Stripe. These parties process information under their own privacy policies.
5. Your choices
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through settings. Mobile devices let you reset or limit advertising identifiers. Disabling strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the Services. Where required by law, we display a cookie banner that lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies; you can change your preferences at any time using the button below.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is no industry consensus on how to respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, and we currently do not respond to them. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by applicable U.S. state law as a request to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, even though we do not engage in either.
7. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time and will revise the “Last updated” date when we do.
